For everyone not keeping track of the play-off race, the Western Conference automatic berths are already set (LA, Seattle, RSL). The Eastern Conference is going to end up going to the last matches of the season, I think. There’s a 4 point difference right now between the top side, Houston Dynamo (42 pts, 31 GP), and my boys DC United, who currently sit 6th (38 pts, 28 GP). Jack’s Philadelphia Union are 4th (40 pts, 29 GP). The amount of leap frogging possible in the East is ridiculous. When DC travels to Philly next week, a win would put them in a Wild Card slot. Wins in all of their remaining fixtures could result in them clinching the Eastern Conference title. It’s going to be an exciting next few weeks in MLS. Keep a look out, gang. It’s going to be a fun ride to the end of the 2011 season.
